Jason and I are officially back in Minnesota! Although we're definitely missing parts of Detroit, we are really glad to be back home. Wow – I cannot thank you guys enough for all the emails! It has been absolutely awesome to read each of them. I love to hear your thoughts - how things are going and what's going on in your lives - and of course, the encouragement is....well, encouraging! So thanks a lot! I would love to respond to each of you and keep in touch, but in order to do that I need you to remember to include your email address when you write from the website…otherwise it just says that it’s from the site, and there isn’t any address I can respond to. Well, my first experience with Young Life has come and gone…and it was an adventure, to say the least! I just finished up (for those of you who were not there) an awesome opportunity of doing the special music for a couple of Fall Camps at Castaway in Detroit Lakes, MN (www.castaway.younglife.org). What a trip! Not only is the camp super fantastic, but the program was great and the people were a blast. Considering this was my first time playing in such a venue, I was feeling a bit apprehensive and insecure at first…but once we got a couple kinks out, I can honestly say that I had the time of my life! Both the campers and the leaders/staff were extremely helpful and supportive. I think it’s fair to say that, after the last couple of weeks, I’m pretty sold-out for Young Life. If any of you are even remotely interested in getting involved in a ministry such as Young Life (either as a student or as a leader), I strongly encourage you to get more information! They really seem to know what they're doing, and they are loving kids and reaching them for Jesus in a very effective way. Good stuff. Anyway, what a stinkin' awesome opportunity to connect with some all-star people and share the music that I'm passionate about. Love it, love it. Thanks to everyone who was there!
